I acquired this unusual rusty hoe head today. It is 7 .75 inches wide and the square hole for the handle is 2 inches x 5/8 inches. Scovil Hoes were manufactured a few miles from here over a hundred years ago, but this doesn't look like the typical round holed ones that I have seen pictures of. Note the deep rounded shoulders to allow the handle to be threaded through the back.
In searching the web, I haven't seen any quite like this. Anybody have any suggestions where to look next?
