Been looking for old trunk for a long time and finally got one that have style that I like. It has wooden handle, one chipped on top. Not sure if I should strip the paint or should just fixing the hardware. Does anyone know any good website or online video to restore these trunks?

    Thank you

I almost always go with do not restore. There are products you can use to give it some luster without removing the original finish. Restor-A-Finish is available at many antique malls and is very easy to use.
      Looks great to me.

Very nice old trunk. Personally I like to strip them down to the wood. Is this one canvas covered? Relatively easy to take canvas off....

I'm not sure if it's canvas or just some kind of wall paper thing .
I'm contemplating not to restore it but just not sure what to do with those chipped wood... And the wood handle 3 mm of the top of it is broken.
Honestly it looks awesome from afar. Anyone has an online instruction of how to fix few parts or the hardware parts of trunks? How to take our the nails and where to get those nails? And anyone know for certain what kinf of trunk is it? The year maybe?

      Thank you

The pictures are a little poor on the quality side so it gets hard to make out details.
Looks to be an 1890's barrel-top trunk. There are trunk sites that offer tips on restoration and others that sell hardware for old trunks so you should not have that such difficulty getting the right info. Good luck!
