this is a typicalitem from the late 19th. century in france. these crucifix under dome are made only in catholic famillies, thats why most of them are in south of france, or in french county's where are catholic population.
the dome was also uses for wedding, where was preserved the wedding krown on a red pillow, and decorated with brass, mirrors, birds etc... with warrious symbols ( mirrors for childs, etc...).
