These 5 chairs sit around a round oak pedestal table in my breakfast room. There is one arm chair (captains chair) and 4 regular chairs. They go back in my immediate family as far back as I can remember which is the mid-late 1950's A fellow collector here named James has many nice chairs and has one that looks identical to these "seat wise". I am unsure of the exact age of these chairs other than what I've shared. Any help on the possible age and exactly what they are called would be greatly appreciated.
The chair in my picture is a smaller chair. These are caller Ladder backs I'm doing a set for my parents. They were my grandparents chairs. Your look to be fiber rush and yes they would be have been made in the 1950's. This set looks to be in very nice shape. The set of chairs and the table in the background are very nice looking too.
Thanks James. It's nice to have as much info on them as possible. Thank you for looking. As far as the furniture in the background, it is from a fully intact 9-piece dining room group made of maple from the early 1020's. There is a little better shot of the table, the china cabinet and the tops of the chairs in my posting of the silver candelabras. The set is maybe my most prized possession in the furniture realm. The buffet is very nice as well and maybe one day in the future I can share what this table, six chairs, china cabinet and buffet look like. I'm told that is seldom an entire intact set is still together. I feel very lucky to own not only this set, but all the neat stuff I've been fortunate to acquire over the last few years.
It looks great
