Some art pottery in my collection from Muncie Art Pottery, circa 1920's-1930's. The soft colors and interesting shapes span different design periods--from Arts and Crafts to Art Deco.

The organic candle holder in the front was part of the "Spanish Line" designed by Reuben Haley, who is well known for his Art Deco geometric glass line, Ruba Rombic, for the Consolidated Glass Company. He also designed a very geometric pottery line for Muncie known as the "Rombic Line." Both the Spanish and Rombic pieces are rare to find and command high prices.

I would love to contact you directly about your Muncie Pottery. My great grandfather, James Wilkins was head ceramist for that company. He immigrated to America from Bristol England. While at the pottery he experimented and created many drips and glazes, including the "peach skin" glaze (which was created by mistake). His son William Wilkins was also a ceramist. Both influenced the pottery profession at Muncie, Wisconsin, and BoysTown pottery. I hope you see my comment and contact me soon. I would love to ask you about some specifics on your collection.
      Thank you
