There it was, hanging on a post in the thrift shop. I had to have it. Money was no object ($8.00!!!).
I didn't find this exact model, but did see similar ones of the same time period on the net. She looks lovely on the wall of my 1950s/1960s reading room!
Wow, thank you nutsabotas6!! The thrift shops were calling my name today.... LOL
stunning!!
Bossons UK did very similar handpainted heads and not just human. There is a Pub in Anglesy, North Wales UK that is dedicated to Bossons. I like your lady very much!
GeodeJem & SEAN68 - Thanks!!! I am always amazed at the things that make their way into thrift shops. I am very familiar with Bossons UK. I lived in Little Cherington, Warwickshire and in Deddington, Oxfordshire and saw many of them. I'd love to be able to go to that pub!
I too love this Efes... The smooth lines the color... Great piece!
Thanks, Rick55. It pays to prowl around the thrift shops. :-)
I love her and what a fantastic price ! gorgeous
Manikin - I was lucky. Right shop, right time...and people who didn't know what she is...!
Doesn't happen often but so lucky when it does and glad you grabbed her up quick !
I am usually a minute to late and see it when someone picks it up :-(
Thanks to everybody for the great comments/love! Manikin, I can relate to that...I am sometimes a day late and a dollar short when I see something across the room, at another table, and somebody swoops down grabs it...lol~!
So, you have a nice girl too!
mcheconi - I sure do!
I have this one, too. Not perfect but I think she's beautiful.
