Hi all,
I love this vase. The uranium outer layer goes to the top. Not normally noticable in daylight, it flashes green around the rim.
It's so elegant and beautiful.
Sadly it turned out to be damaged, but it's frill and feet are intact.
I'd love to know more about it.
I'd guess it's Bohemian/Czech from its cut rI'm, feet & rigaree, but know that's not a fool proof way to tell.
If anyone recognises who made it I'd love to know.
All comments welcome.
Thank you
Oh Wow! Fran, This is incredible looking!!!
Hi Fran, Just beautiful.....and the type of coil is one I have on two pieces, both probably Czech.
Thank you jscotto and Peggy. I've seen this type of coil before but is the first I own. I'd guess Bohemian too but have no idea by who. Funnily enough there was a vase very similar to this but the bowl part had n added 'blotchy frosted' look to it (there's probably a technical name but I've been unable to find it), I lost out on that, I should've taken a photo. If it was as good as this in real life it must have been amazing. I'd guess they were made by the same maker, the colours, frill and feet were the same if I remember rightly.
Vintagefran, this is a beauty! I adore the combination of pink and the uv green. I also say Bohemian; I have a green to clear vase with the same type of pinched coil around the vase - but it isn't as pretty as yours! :)
Thank you Michelle:) do you have your vase posted?
fran, I do not have that particular one posted, but here is a similar vase of mine - the 'shells' go the opposite direction, though! http://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/102318-green-to-clear-vase-with-applied-rigaree As I said, yours is much, much prettier! :)
That is absolutely Spectacular Fran! The Pink and Vaseline are a wonderful combination.
