Part of my whirlwind summer 2010 east coast antiques tour was a two-day stay in Berks County, Pennsylvania... right next to Lancaster County and a thriving center of antiques and vintage activity.
I spent several hours in Adamstown, which bills itself on the Internet as "the antiques capital of the USA" and kind of actually lives up to its billing. Unlike other antiques center which have slowly shrunk to a shadow of their former selves, Adamstown, especially on a Sunday, is a thriving "target-rich environment" consisting of more than a dozen really good antique shops and malls along PA Route 272, plus a couple of outdoor venues.
I'll do separate posts shortly on some of the bigger venues such as Renninger's and Stoudt's Black Angus, and some of the great items and booths I saw there.
