Vintage John Deere box wagon that has been restored to factory original, show room condition. Two brothers found the wagon in their Dad's barn and brought it back to life.
All of the restoration was completed under the supervision of the John Deere archives department in Moline, ILL. The wagon has a stamp mark '88' on the inside of the side boards that suggest 1888 as the manufacture date. Slip tongue, single trees, and double tree are all original to this wagon. A missing rear gate was restored and is a simplified sliding gate option that was reproduced from an old John Deere sales brochure. The original wheel wrench was found under a pile of tools and goes with the wagon. All JD logos, trademarks, wagon scrolling and paint colors are restored details you would have seen on the original. They even made a matching 'Dealer Warranty' that came standard on every John Deere wagon.
Superb.
the 88 is not the Mfg. date. John Deere began in 1918, so that is one factor ruled out
