Edith Bouvier Beale was born on November 7, 1917 in New York City. A cousin of First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, she was known as "Little Edie" (a socialite and model). A 1975 documentary entitled Grey Gardens and a later film made the pair cult figures and fashion icons. Edie died in 2002.

I am so thrilled to have this Valentine for I am fascinated with Edie Beale. This handmade Valentine was sent to a dear friend of hers who was kind enough to share some of these with the world. I thank him for his kindness and want to share this special Valentine for Valentine's Day.

Edie and her mother lived in the same area as my "Green Lady" previously posted.

Wow you need to frame this in a glass frame so you can view from both sides. Like the one I put my boxing poster in:)
