    My second foray into jewelry and I lucked out with this brooch. Marked with an M and S. 1 3/4" x 1" in dimension. It is a very fine piece.

      I love these mid century brooches. Possibly Japanese made with their pearls for the western market.

      Yes. The M is inside a clamshell. My daughter with eagle eyes spotted it last night. I googled it and voila! Apparently this is a common design.

      I would have posted the back, but the mark did not show up clearly in the photo. I could see it though, which is why I was able to identify it as Mikimoto.
