I bought this collection of sea glass. I was surprised to find some pieces of uranium and vaseline glass mixed in. There is also an amber chunk that glows a redish pink color under UV.
Some of the most interesting pieces are the red which 2 pieces have a pattern in it and in that pattern appears to show the remnant of a carnival glass coating. The one piece also has a bit of white or clear on the edge. The other interesting piece of red is the curved clear glass with a thin lining of red.
The other interesting pieces are the blue. Two of the pieces are from the same piece. It has bands and a pattern that looks like a stylized K.
I have been looking through tons of pictures trying to match up the red and blue pieces to see what they originally are. If anybody has an idea of what the red and blue used to be, let me know.
Red was from ship lights. Blue (dark) medication bottles. I live on Lake Erie and we see lots of glass but these are rare colors.
Nature can make everything beautiful if we leave it alone. A gorgeous collection and it must be so much fun collecting and interpreting your glass.
So beautiful, love sea glass, and these are nice quality. :)
Thanks! I never really thought twice about sea glass but when I saw this bag for sale, I just had to get it. I hope to get out and find some on my own.
