This green glass vase has pearly shells surrounding the base and a lustre finish. I love it, I've been told that it's of no worth (has some damage, a crack and part of shell missing ) but I'd love to know more about it before i part with it. approx 5 or 6 ins high and 4 ins across. thanks everso.

It's Bohemian, made by Kralik, Art Nouveau period.

I must be getting old, I thought that was a ladies spittoon.

Very finely-made claws if the finish is the same on all of them. They end in trails to the base more commonly. I don't think that the one you show looks broken, but that's another option if it is sharp and different to the others.
However, the signs are to me that all was intentional.

Thx all. I suspected it was art nouveau from its lustre and i'm surprised its worthless. there is a crack through it but it hasn't lost any stability. and the tail end trail of the shell is missing. Nevermind.
