      I believe the anchor is the the mark for Birmingham but I am not good at this. I also believe that you have a desk set, not a make-up box. What I do know, though, is that it is lovely:)

      Definitely a desk set, definitely Birmingham. They Year letter O for 1938. The makers’ marks S & M for Sanders & Mackenzie (Ernest Wilfred Sanders & Henry Arthur Mackenzie), Spencer Street, Birmingham.
