Beam Clamp

I love finding anything with a stamp on it as it's a key to unlocking history and adds charm to a found item. This is a clamp I found on a walk on a rocky trail near a college campus. An area with lots of piles of sticks ,trees,etc. Im assuming it perhaps is connected to landscaping maybe and was unearthed. Looks old and weathered compared to newer construction clamps I saw online ,so im pondering the year it's from and what it was used to build or hold together or lift. Any construction expertise gladly welcomed. It's about 1 1/2 inches.On it is stamped I believe SCE/318.....Odd thing to keep,but like I said anything at all with a stamp on it thrills me :)even if it's an old nut,bolt or screw. Lol.
