This extremely rare Gold Cowboy sign belonged to my friend Bobby Knudsen who recently sold it at auction. It’s the nicest of the 7 known signs of this model. These are the rarest of all the different models of Frontier signs. We know these were used in the mid 40s sometime.
The first Signs Frontier used in 1940-43 ish were the 60” all round white signs. In about 43- 50 they went to the White 6’ Keyhole sign. In about 45-48 somewhere, they made a few gold Cowboy signs. In 1950-55 they switched everything to the red keyhole signs and made 2 different styles of them. In 55 they began the red and white Silouette signs that they kept until Bud, the owner, died and the Company was bought by Husky Oil.
Reise,
Thx for the luv it. Very few people have ever seen one of these signs.
