Old picture of Rome from my grandpa.. What is it worth? Where is it?? What is it???

This is (what i believe to be) a photograph of Rome taken approximately 100 years ago. It is very old, given to me by my grandfather. I am trying to identify what it is a picture of, when it was taken and the value of it. I dont know much more than that so any help is MUCH appreciated, thank you.
