Hi and welcome collectors weekly show and tell. I believe your Standard Oil Barrel is probably galvanized or steel, the round id plate is probably brass. You can test this by using a magnet, or scratch the metal in a inconspicuos place and see if it looks silver or gold (gold if it is brass) I have seen these for $75 to $200. If it was brass, it would probably have that much in scrap value. Hope this helps.

I have found a 55 Gallon Texas Company Oil Drum. I know that this company truns in to Texaco. Does anyone know how much this thing is worth?

I've been told $25 to $50 for mine but I'd never sell it for that. I think it's way cool. Mine is a Continental Oil Co. barrel but is missing the brass tag. I like seeing 1902 on yours as experts said mine is at least from 1920. Thanks for the post & pics!
