hi, these huge Chinese dragon pots were used to transport ( or store ?) "thousand year eggs", a Chinese delicacy. I don't know if they are still in production today but I would think not.

thank you oldster2. i tried those a few times and wasn't too crazy over them. in thailand, we called them 'kai sao ma' or something like that and they were very popular. i was cleaning these jars yesterday and found barnacles under the lips of them which means they were in the ocean for awhile. i wonder why?

i have thought about drilling these so many times to plant in them, and have hesitated each time. i've got a bunch of them now and think i'll drill some to plant them. these must have been stored in the bay for a long time because i found barnacles under the lips on this one. maybe they were thrown into the bay and then pulled out a while later?
