I came across this tool at a local estate sale. Even the owner didn't know what it was, he just liked it as I do also. The flat area has a stamp on it that says Silvers Trade Mark Brooklyn with a line drawing of the Brooklyn Bridge across the words. One handle says Silvers & Co. the other says Pat. Apld. For. This came from a farm site but I can not figure out what it was used for. Can you help?

You can mark this one solved. You have the frame of a Antique Potato Ricer. It is missing the metal cage that the potato's would be pushed through.

Thank you so much, rocker-sd! I never figured it would be involved with food!
Thanks for the site to see the whole piece also. Maybe I can find the metal cage some day. I love the looks of old iron pieces and will continue to collect them even if I don't know what they are!

Your welcome cindyjune. I too collect what-zits, or thing I can't figure out or identify. I still have one posted here http://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/36733-copper-visor
Yours was easy for me because I have probably sold a least 100 complete Potato Ricers over the years. Yours is rarer being square, as the majority are round.

That's a neat visor but I don't have a clue. Looks like plumbing equipment?
