On the back of one of the pictures there is a business card and a piece of paper. The business card reads LELAND ART HOUSE
NO. 50 SECT 3 CHUNG SHAN N. ROAD
TAIPEI, TAIWAN, REPUBLIC OF CHINA
The piece of paper is titled ART OF BATIK PAINTING
Than the paper goes on to tell a little history about batik painting and how to care for them.
There was one more painting that is not shown above. It was stolen.
If anyone could help it would be very much appreciated.
Thank You
I wrote a comment earlier, but maybe didn't post it. I don't know anything about the painting, but have a batik painting with the same piece of paper titled ART OF BATIK PAINTING. It has a number on it. I can not read the signature or writing other than the typed history. I would love to know more about these paintings. I hope you find the one missing. Please

We have two original pieces with exactly the same papers on back. It is definitely the same artist. Shan Chung Same frames. My dad bought them when he was overseas in the military in the (60s? 70s?) We have been wondering if anyone can tell us about them. I have photos and would be happy to share if you would like to email me. I don't know how to attach them to this message.

If this mystery is ever solved I too have a Batik Stone Rubbed painting from the Leland Art House in Taiwan. was told by a friend that the Taiwanese writting on the back says Rich Flower 2 and it is off flowers. I have tried to track down that art house with no luck but am desperate to learn about this so any help is appreciated.
Hi, about a year ago I bought one of these batik painting from the Leland Art House, NO. 31-1 SECT 3 CHUNG SHAN N. ROAD TAIPEI, TAIWAN, CHINA
Im currently doing a little research on this to find out more about it and its value.
I bought it for about 300 krones (about 40$) on a second hand charity market in a town called Elnesvågen in Norway
I may have this. A friend bought it for me at a garage sale. There's a hand written "BS 934" on the back, with what looks like a black sharpie. Mine looks like it has a similar theme as the other 5. Otherwise the back is exactly as you describe and in very good shape.
They are worth $20-40 if your lucky.
Batik is just a name for the way the art is made. Using wax and dye. Thousands upon thousands of these exist.
