Majolica Joseph Holdcroft Dolphin Compote
The colors are gorgeous and vibrant and the combination of subject matter very intriguing. Dolphins and other animals were extremely popular during Victorian times.
This lovely piece is in great condition ! The only issue is that some of the teal/azure glaze has worn off in the middle of the bowl.
Jospeh Holdcroft established the Sutherland Pottery Studio in 1870 at Daisy Bank in Longton.
