Awesome piece Trevor! I'd leave it alone if it were mine. Your old cooler is super sweet, I think it looks incredible just the way you're displaying it.

Thanks Dave & Jameyrd. Willing to leave cooler as is, but what about the bottle opener should I atleast restore it? Its covered in green paint not even sure if it says coca-cola on it. Also in your guys opinion do you think this ice chest had a case rack at one point in time? Take alook at officalfuel's ice chest ( http://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/6508-original-1929-glasscock-coke-cooler--ma?in=92-liked-all-time ) noticed how theres 3 extra bolts on his legs (seen in pic 3) to bolt the case rack to ice chest? Mine doesnt have any signs of having case rack just curious what you guys think.

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is awesome Trevor, I would merely dust it off and display it proudly. I'd say no rack or wheels either, like you said no holes or brackets. It could be an earlier model, before they got fancy with extras. Great grab.

Thanks blunderbuss2, and Tommy! Happy to hear your opinion on the rack and wheels, I have been wondering and wondering and wondering about them. I like how it could be a earlier model before they got fancy with the extras, but i'm almost thinking its the opposite. In my opinion (not sure if i'm right, that why I wanna hear your guys opinions) I think its a later model, possibly made during the 30's when the great depression hit. They were no longer able to put all the bells and whistles on it so they went more basic. The reason i think this is because other 1930's ice chests (newer ones) don't have the case rack either so maybe they stopped putting case racks on ice chests after the 1920's. Again not sure and would love to hear your guys comments.

sweet find Trev! These are question for either Blaine or Ray.
    9. coke.trevor.cola coke.trevor.cola, 11 years ago
Thanks Perry! I have been talking to Blaine about this ice chest, have not heard from Ray yet, really hoping to hear his opinion on this.

Trev, don't forget later coolers had no room for racks as they now had refrigeration in that space. Give Soda-Machines.com a look, it's a pretty good reference too.

If not a Glascock or Glasco, it could be a J. Moss & Sons or Atlas. They made very similar coolers.

      Hey Ray! Thanks for your info, heres some answers to your questions;

      1) Coca-Cola is embossed, the rest of sign is just painted on.

      2) I dont think legs were added I can show you better close up, but only the outside of the legs were repainted the original paint is still seen on inside of legs, the legs look original to me.

      3) Most important the name plate, your right it doesnt have a brass manufactures plate on it, BUT the signs are marked St. Thomas Metal Signs Ltd. St. Thomas Ont. So shes Canadian not US does that mean she not a Glascock ice chest? I thought Glascock was the name of these ice chest didnt know it was the manufactures name. The bottle opener i'm starting to wonder if its even original, its not embossed, so it doesnt appear to have a coca cola logo on it, but I have seen other coke coolers with blank bottle openers so still unsure.

Check your email Ray I sent you some more pictures of ice chest.
    13. coke.trevor.cola coke.trevor.cola, 11 years ago
Thanks for the link Ray, noticed how it also has same bottle opener as mine? Im now wondering if these bottle openers went on the Canadian ice chests. Also thanks for the info on Glascock, did you know St. Thomas made these as well? Since that other ice chest doesnt have rack either and appears to be Canadian too, do you think these coolers were made without racks? Or do you think that legs were possibly added still, and the original did have rack?

Check your email you should have one from me by now, if not let me know and ill try sending it again.

Looks good to me Trev, saw it's exact duplicate at Jarvis auction where you bought that sidewalk sign last year(that one went for+/- $600. These did not come with a rack that I've ever seen here.
      Nice addition to your collection!
    16. coke.trevor.cola coke.trevor.cola, 11 years ago
Thanks Ray and Bernie! I didn't make it to that Jarvis auction where I got my porcelain sidewalk sign, I had my parents go for me and totally forgot there was a ice chest there. Did that ice chest really only go for 600$? My parents thought it went for 800$ plus the 10% buyers fee and 13% tax, but they can't remember 100% either....
