This is a primitive cat that I picked up for $3.00 at a thrift store. I found one just like it on ebay sell for $1000.00. They called it Sewer Tile Folk Art. Can anyone tell me anything about it? I haven't been able to find one on ebay since other than those not glazed.
It is 8" tall and 7" at the base. What do you think Mike? Is this a good pick?

Hi, Can you put up the address on the eBay one? I see them before with painted eyes but have not seen any with painted bodys? Like to compare with eBay one. Thanks, Dave
Sewer tile figures were made by workers at the sewer tile and pipe factories in the Ohio area during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Figurines, small vases, and cemetery vases were favored. Often the finished vase was a piece of the original pipe with added decorations and markings.

No I can't. I saw it right after I bought the cat and didn't print it out or save it. That was probably a year ago. I thought that more were out there but haven't been able to find any since. Thanks for the information.
