The Schoyen Collection
The Schøyen Collection is an extensive pool of manuscripts dating from 3300 BC to the 19th century. Of particular interest is its Bible collection, which is divided into five main categories: The Hebrew and Aramaic Bible, the Greek New Testament and Septuagint, the Coptic Bible, the Latin Bible, and Bible translations. Representative images under each category are showcased, along with descriptions of each piece—from its binding to its provenance. Other Schøyen Collection items of interest include manuscripts written on clay or bone, as well as texts devoted to music and ancient magic.
