Patrick's Blood and Gore
This encyclopedic and occasionally irreverent site is the be-all and end-all for collectors of Stanley planes. Patrick Leach begins with the Bailey planes, whose patent Stanley acquired in 1869 to kick-start its entry into the plane business. From there, Leach illustrates and describes every numbered Stanley model plane, from 1 to 608C, including, of course, the much coveted 45. Throughout, Leach offers wry commentaries, as well as tips for collectors wishing to avoid being taken in by reproductions.
