Saxquest
Mark Overton, who has a PhD in Molecular Biology, is also a devoted saxophonist, sax repairman, and horn historian, as a visit to Saxquest.com and its sister site, Saxophone.org, makes abundantly clear. Organized around he and his wife, Elke’s, store and repair shop in St. Louis, Missouri, each site features links to the facility’s second-floor Saxophone Museum, where you can view 19th-century instruments made by Adolphe Sax, a gold-plated King Saxello from 1921, and a Conn-O-Sax from 1929 that looks like it was lifted from the cantina scene in “Star Wars,” to name but a few of the instruments that have been lovingly photographed. Don’t miss the Histories and Factory Tours at Saxophone.org, or the Before-and-After repair shots at Saxquest.
