I found three wonderful palette plates on my rounds I am not able to tell a lot about it because I could not find anything in the search engine. There is the Registration number 878478 on the bottom of the plates. As you realize I am a novice to this "department" but I love beauty and those are three wonderful plates. The plate size is about 10" x 6" . Made in the UK by Royal Staffordshire by Clarice Cliff.

Lucky you! Clarice Cliff is very collectible. These snack plates date from the 1930-50's, I believe, when she designed a series of dinnerware for Arthur Wilkinson.

The pattern looks like apple blossoms. I'm sure there's a Clarice Cliff collectors club on-line that can help. There one piece for sale on the Australian eBay for $75 AU, but doesn't give any further info.

Here's a couple of links that will help you in the future
For English Staffordshire pottery go to the potteries.org
For info on the big names in European pottery/porcelain, like Royal Doulton or Worcester, including dating assistance go to antique-marks.com
For German porcelain dates go to porcelainmarksandmore.com- you need the maker's name.
If you have a maker's name, but want to find a china pattern, or more pieces, go to replacements.com
For Chinese or Japanese marks go to gotheborg.com
The big name like Haviland and Noritake have collectors club with pattern info, marks etc

If you look at the auctions shown on the Collectors weekly home page, you really can get an idea of what's popular, what unusual items are meant to be used for etc, and of course what people are willing to pay for them. Good luck!

Maryh 1956, thank you so much. I have as well actually some nice pieces from Noritake. Beautiful cup with 2 handles and 4 very small little dishes. Looks they are for Wasabi. They are gorgeous. I really appreciate all the good links you gave me. Thank you.

If the cup has two handles, its known as a bouillon cup in the US, a cream soup cup in the UK. Post a pic of the dishes, front and back

maryh1956 I posted the dishes. They are just beautiful. Have a look. I placed it as Noritake Bouillon cup.. The colors are just gorgeous and china really fine. fell in love with those dishes.
