Was wondering if anybody could identify the model and year of this Waltham pocket watch. It's in near mint condition but I was wary of opening the back as I have little experience with watches.

Lovely watch, but sadly, without knowing the movement's serial number (which is inside the back), it can"t be correctly ID. If you take it to a promanate Jeweler, they can open this for you and copy the "Movement's serial number, not the case number. and you can look at this link for the info you've asked about. The link will tell you everything about the model designated by the serial number. Just click this link and type the number in the box provided. Sorry that's the best I can do to help.

Thank you very much for your information Kerry. Guess it's a trip to the jewelers! I will add the results to this post when I get them.

The back of the cases pops off. If you take your thumb nail and run it along the inside edge of the back cover, it will pop off.
Very nice watch. The American Waltham Watch Co. was in business from 1851 - 1957.
      Thanks for sharing yours,
