This was my first trunk. Bought it at a church fair. The lady wanted $5 but I had only $3.15 left. We made the deal. I had to bring it home on the bus. Since then I have acquired a few more, but, being the first I still think it is the best. There is only a bit of mouse music on the top. The rest is sound. I'd appreciate your ideas of age. Thanks.
Wonderful 1st trunk and great story! I would say it is from about 1910 or so. The metal pieces are stamped steel so that process came into full tilt around then. Nice wide slats and quality hinges and front guides. Great is still has the straps -- most often missing. Here's to many more!!!
Salute!
