Forgive me for the invasion of early Loetz decors - sometimes when you find something, you tend to keep finding it as long as you're "attuned" to it. This time I happened upon the largest piece of Loetz Carneol (height-wise) that I've ever seen. A whopping 18.0" (46 cm) tall, with a base the size of a steering wheel (maybe a go-kart steering wheel - 8.0" across). Circa 1890 - an early form - non-UV reactive. No ornamentation. I have shown it here in comparison to other marmoriertes pieces, some of which I have posted here before. The only thing I've seen taller is Alfredo's 21.0" tall Orpheus.
Great Carneol collection, Warren. I love looking at groupings of various sizes of similar decors and colors. It is always interesting to see the differences that each piece exhibits. Thanks for sharing.
