      It is called a Candle Wick Trimmer.

      Wick trimmer sounds right because of the size of the cutting edge but may confused with a cigar nubber.

      That's exactly what it is; "A candle Wick Trimmer" ....the sharp end was for digging the wax out of the socket and the box section was to keep the wax & cut wick from falling on the tablecloth when the wick was cut. BOB
