STILL NEED HELP IDENTIFYING THIS ITEM !!
This Native American Handmade Blanket or Throw is exquisitely detailed with painstaking craftmanship. It measures approx. 24" x 24" and has fringe with small metal round disks attached to the fringe. There is some rust on the metal disks. I do not know which Band/ Tribe from which it was made, nor do I know the age/ period that it is from. Please, if anyone has any helpful information it would be greatly appreciated !! If there is a "zoom" feature or f you can adjust your settings on your computer to allow you to enlarge or zoom in for closer detail, the resolution should be sufficient. This really has some very fine artistic craftmanship and the color, detail and quality are equal on both sides.
This was received by a friend who received it as collateral for a private friendly loan. The individual moved away, but while on the way out of town stopped by to tell her that although they really desired the piece, they had no means of repayment of the loan. The owner ( a friend of mine) is very interested in finding out as much as possible about this fine piece. She has been keeping it protected in 2 "baby-blankets" currently and is considering having it displayed in her home although there is some concern about it becoming weakened from hanging or any other means of display.
Again, any information to help identify the age, purpose, tribal origin or materials commonly used would be sooo greatly appreciated !!
Thank you, and yes we have more pics available or can take any requested views if it will assist in the identification of this fine Native American item.
Still needing help to identify this item... Please help if you have any info !
Thank you
I agree with AR8Jason
but another question- I cant tell for sure, but is this bead work?
Yes, it is beadwork. As far as the first comment. If not Native American, then what would it be and it's approximate age if you can tell.
