This was a gift from my brother.
An unopened 16 oz bottle coca-cola.
It has the foam type wrapper, which is torn here and there.

The design on this label is called "the dynamic ribbon" and it was introduced late 1969. I remember these bottles from some 30 years ago. So old enough to be collectible for sure. An any gift from a sibling immediately becomes a collectible!
I peeled more of these labels off than I care to remember. Trust me, there's nothing underneath.
My brother never gave me nothing but a fat lip!
LOL, my brother smoked pot in high school and is now in ministry! Wonders never cease.
It's funny how things work out. My brother and I tussled a little, but then joined forces to take on bullies. A role we still relish today in one form or another.
Daddy_Nobucks Thank you for the wonderful information and kind words.
I couldn't agree more that any gift from family or loved one immediately becomes a collectible/keepsake no matter it's worth.
=^) Have a great day!
As a child I peeled many of these ribbon label's, which yielded a glass bottle beneath every time. The unraveling was for the fun of it, not for hidden treasures.
Maybe I shouldn't share this, but as a younger man back then, we would peel and tear this outer sleeve into very small pieces, stuff back into the bottle, add a touch of gasoline and let it jell. Makes for a Napalm like substance. I know the original substance is nothing more that an inert soap flakes mixed with JP, but this work similar. Great for lighting off green brush piles.
Don't forget that they were pretty good noise-makers too. Peel it half way down then pull the rest off a little bit and smack it back on...
Thanks for the Love and the story Kerry.
Yes Tommy, they sure were. Those wrappers also made a nice high pitched noise by pulling off strips and blowing air across them.
=^) Thanks for the Love...
