This was in my Mother's cupboard in the very corner!! I can find no information on this at all. Don't want to sell it just interested in when and where it was made. Has a metal screw on top.
    On the front has:
    QUAKER COFFEE
    1lb net
LEE & CADY Detroit, Michigan* Distributors
    MICHIGAN-OHIO

    on one side it has:
Coffee pot suggestions (Coffee is available in three different grinds~Medium ~Drip~Glass Pot.) Then it has Coffee Pot Method~~~Percolation Method~~~~Drip Method~~ then Glass Pot Method
on the other side it has:
    OUAKER
    Duraglas Container
    A Fine Coffee Package
FINER for us because we capture in Duraglas the full, rich elegance of this blend
FINER for you because the "Flavor -Lock" cap reseals the jar hermetically after each use.
This jar can be used for home preserving of fruits and vegetables by using No. 63 Thrif-T-lids. Ask your grocer.
This is 6" and a half tall. about 14" around.
Any information would be wonderful. I want my children to know why I kept this and history on it. There is still coffee in this jar and it smells great. Wouldn't attempt to use it!!!!!!
It has quite a bit of other words other than what I put here.

Here is a link to one of my WWII ration oil jars,I think that the PENN-DRAKE one is the same bottle(they used coffee, mayo,& cottage cheese jars to save glass and manpower(they were already made))
So that would date it as maybe late 30's and more likely early 40's.
      Thanks for posting!

I think this was sold in A&P Tea stores during the 1950's. I don't think A&P inventory archives are available online but many of their orders and ad promotions are.

If you Google it you probably won't find it unless you use "Quaker Girl" in the search string. Keep in mind it was a man's world back then and the Quaker Girl was new. The only other woman figure in the store back then was Aunt Jemimah. She was there every Friday night cooking and handing out pancakes. The coffee just complimented the meal and it was free.
