This is a find from (almost) dumpster diving. An unknown neighbour had left this at the rubbish chute area (I live in an apartment block). This is the kind of indoor lounger (I know in America they are usually found outside, around a pool area perhaps) my mum used to have in the house from the 70s and 80s, just for lazing around watching TV and you can adjust how high or low you want it to be. The last few ones mum owned had been discarded when they broke and I have not seen one for a couple of decades.
This one was in pretty good condition except for the vinyl woven cover which was tearing. Also I removed the cover because it's like the equivalent of sleeping on someone's unwashed bedsheets (for years). LOL. I got a red canvas cover made but have yet to fit them on because I have to get some vinyl/plastic type twine to fasten them in place but I am looking forward to lazing on it to watch TV!
Very cool! Nice picking!
Thanks AmberRose! My friend said I've graduated to a full-fledged rag & bone lady. LOL. Not the first time though- I've taken things thrown by the kerbside when I lived in Sydney - I loved the Council clean up days!!
In Chicago there are two big moving days. May 1 and Oct 1. You can find all kinds of great stuff that people abandon because it doesn't fit. We call it alley pickin.
Thanks DrFluffy for the love and Eye4Beauty for your comments.
