There are lots of mysteries in my jewelry collection these days.
These chains were flea market finds. They were bought for about a buck each, it was only when I got home I found out they were silver.
I m not sure what they were used for. The first one was probably a watch chain. The second one I have no idea what it was used for, it has a weird clasp. I think they date from the twenties. I wear these as necklaces and sometimes I wear pendants on them. Although they are beautiful as is. The second one is signed: sterling. The first one is vermeil and its signed 800. I hope you like them.
WOWWY... Love them. Gorgeous.
Thxxx Fluf!
I have almost a mirror image of that first one! Watch chain for sure. I wear it like a bracelet.
Thanks AmberRose for your comment and the love.
And thank you Manikin and Moonstonelover for appreciating my chains
The first one is defiantly a pocket watch chain, and my favorite.
Love them!. The first one is a Niello (black mixture of copper, silver, and lead sulphides, used as an inlay on engraved or etched metal) watch chain. The use of the second I don't know.
Thanks for the love and the intresting comment Agram!
I believe the second one is called a paper clip chain, popular style during the Art Nouveau period. Probably a necklace.
