Can anyone help me date this pin? It's a small (1 by 3/4 inches) metal screw back pin showing a golden eagle perched on an enameled red, white, and blue flag shield. The shield has five gold stars at the top and the words "defense worker" written in a banner across the bottom.
I found it alongside some mid-century US Navy pins.
Enamel front would indicate WW2 era to me.
