I am hoping that someone can help me identify this table that I picked up at my local flea market this weekend. The top swivels, it has an interesting peg shown in picture #3 that I am not sure of it's function, and it displays high quality workmanship with it's scrolling woodwork and paw feet.
The elderly woman that I purchased it from claimed that it is an antique, and has never been refinished, she stated that she only used high quality polish' This is hard to believe with the excellent condition that it is in.
I looked all over the internet for a match, but could not find another like it, and I couldn't find a makers mark. Please help me identify my new treasure. Thank you! Greg
Try searching for "tilt top bird cage table" and you will find a wealth of information.
The underside may reveal if it has any age.

The carving looks a little new in the photos. The biggest tipoff is how "squareish" the knuckles look, they should have a more relaxed feel. Also the caring on the rim of the top looks like a recent style.
