Looking for some info on this little piece of glass. Only an inch or two tall. Looks like it was handblown. The last picture shows the polished pontil. Anyone know what would make a stain like this white one on the inside? Enjoy, thanks!
The cloudiness on the inside is also called "sickness". In general, it results from liquid (typically water) that was allowed to evaporate rather than being fully dried through other means. The calcium residue from the water is left on the surface, and over time, can actually scratch the surface. That is why this "sickness" can sometimes be cleaned 9if removed before the surface is scratched), and other times cannot be removed unless polished (after the surface has been scratched).
Interesting thanks twentiethc.
