Can Any One Tell Me Who This Monkey Is Made By Please?

Whilst clearing out my Nana's belongings after she passed away, I had loved this monkey for as long as I can remember and I am in my 40's now.
Its around 6" inches in length and maybe 4 inches, maybe 5 inches high. The bowl is around 2" in diameter.
The makers mark is an A in a square. The bottom has felt on it, but I think that this was put on at a later stage.
It is made of ceramic, clay or similar (I do not know ANYTHING about pottery) but its quite heavy and very very well made with lots of detail.

I would be very grateful if anyone can assist me in identifying this item I will be over the moon.
