This cross is silver tone over copper or brass. Its quit large, about 5cm high and its really well made with tiny details. When I bought it I was told it came from a monastry with nuns here in Belgium. But everyone knows talk is cheap. I did a bit of research and I found out it was made around 1860-1880. Its totally gothic revival in style. It the front its latin and it says: Jezus Nazarenus Rex Judaorum or in English: Jesus of Nazareth, king of the Jews and on the back its French:Voila ce coeur qui a tant aimé les hommes....Something like: This heart has so much loved the people.
I think it was a good thing I never tried to become a translator. :-)
Anyway, I dont like crosses but this is one of the nicest ones I have ever seen. I hope you like it too!
Thx bratjdd, Thoscahaba, Agram, petey, Manikin, vintagejewel, DrFluffy and vetraio for appreciating my pendant!
