    i think that this is old, but i don't know anything about glass. can anyone tell me about it? it's an unusual purple color and has the number 28- on the base. any info appreciated. it's 8" high.

      Nice Lavender Opaline Bottle from a "dresser Set". Yes, very old; late 1890's-early 1900's and the number relates to a stopper size that fits the bottle. In other words, the stopper would have the same number underneath to match to the bottle so that they would fit. Could be French, English, Bohemian. BOB
