Silver plate jewelry casket

These are two examples of silver plate jewelry caskets. As with the gilt jewelry caskets, they are lined in a velvet instead of the silk of the gilt jewelry caskets. The second photo is of a beautiful jewelry casket of silver plate, made by the Sheridan Silver Company. It measures 6 1/4 inches long by 5 1/4 inches wide and has a height of 2 5/8 inches. The box sits upon tiger faces and little feet, four in all. Inside, the deep blue velvet lining is in excellent condition. There is also deep blue velvet on the bottom, which is a nice touch
