This is a very interesting piece marked "Made in Japan" on its bottom that looks like a house, but has a handle to carry it and a removable lid. Unable to find anything like it, since whatever I search on produces nothing close to it! Measures roughly 6 inches in length, width and depth. Seems old due to crazing in glaze, but in very good shape otherwise. Is it a lunch box, sewing box, lidded basket or what? Definitely a unique piece, which is why I bought it, but would love to be able to identify what it is. Any ideas?

Probably a cookie jar, or in the UK, a biscuit barrel! circa 1960's

Over the years I have seen similar items, which identified it as basically a lunch box. Sounds good enough for me.
