This vase stands just 5.5" tall and the colours are Sea? Green and white swirl, hard to describe the green as it shows up on camera as a turquoise! It has gold and beige embossed pattern to one side and a polished out pontil. Any thoughts on it would be appreciated! Many thanks!!:) Thanks to MacArt looks like it is a Bohemian Vase!!

I think it's definitely bohemian, like more budget friendly version of Loetz marmorietes decor.

The gold gilded rim (to me) suggests that it once had a lid.

Thank you charcoal, I did wonder about that gold gilding on the rim!

Great shape and an unusual colour…love it…but! I have to wonder about it had a having a cover… why would it have gilding decoration on the rim when it would be hidden…. and if!.. it did have a lid.. would the gilding be as worn as much as it is?….. what would you store in a vessel that shape that would require that much lid use to access the contents… finally wouldn’t it be just a nightmare to keep clean!..how on earth would you clean the bottom of it…just my thoughts!....:-)

See ebay item number 141053698165 for an example of the tiny lid.

Well, Justanovice, by now you know the origins of your pretty vase! Why didn't you post a link for all to see?
