This fully functional floor loom came from our familys plantation home in Virginia. My great grandmother wove white linen for Sunday church clothes and my mom made rag rugs for years on it. As you can see she passed away before she could finish her very last rug. We have enjoyed rag rugs for many many years. I was wondering if anyone would have an idea of a value.
Im a weaver and have owned and sold many different looms. Yours is a Union Rug loom, made at one time in Lodi, Ohio. Unfortunately, because it is only two t readles, you will be lucky to ge 200 to 300 for it.
thanks cis2you...I know that the more heddles the better....my mom made hundreds of rag rugs that the whole family have used for years....fortunately we have the chance to pass it on to our younger family members so they can create some mighty fine rugs themselves....
With that family history behind it..... it's priceless! Wonderful piece you have there.
thanks again...
Hi. The treadles are below- the feet operate the treadles and the heddles are above- the yarn threads through the heddles.
