This is a young man from the early era of football when it wasn't that unusual for players to DIE on the field.
The image dates from about 1895- 1910-- maybe something in the uniform can narrow that time period down?
The young man appears to have had a very rough game. His jersey has numerous tears and holes. It looks as though one of his sewn in shoulder pads was partially torn off.

The guy that ripped his shoulder pad half off was actually going for the player's eye! :-)

Oh wow, I see this is from 2 yrs ago. It's all good, your photos are timeless anyway, right?! He looks sorta crooked...or are his clothes that roughed up?
He has a little hip bend that makes him looked crooked.
