Several months ago I found this gorgeous pink jardiniere & pedestal set with gold highlights at a local thrift store, which is clearly marked on the bottom of the jardiniere "FAIARTE / 1333" (stamped into the ceramic). Both pieces also have paper labels indicating "FAIARTE CERAMICS", but I am unable to find much of anything on the internet other than quite a few smaller Faiarte figurines on a "BidAndBuy" website. Cannot confirm if these pieces are made by Faiarte of South Africa, or possibly Portugal? I'm hoping someone out there can point me in the right direction here, since I am trying to find out more about the maker, and hopefully figure out a reasonable value for this set.
The pedestal measures about 21.5 inches tall with a 6.25 inch diameter at the top. The jardiniere pot measures about 8 inches tall with a 10.25 inch diameter at the top (bottom diameter is slightly less than the top of the pedestal, of course). Also, since these pieces are made more like porcelain ceramic (versus heavier pottery ceramic), I hate to actually use them for fear the cats may break the pieces! ;oO
Anyone have any suggestions on these absolutely stunning pieces??? I'm not even sure how to categorize this set...
Lovely!
Thanks! And, I most certainly agree! I love collecting unusual pottery and ceramic works, and this is by far the most beautiful and unusual utilitarian set I have come across in the last year. Wish I had the room to display it properly and safely from the cats!
