I'm posting this one because these are selling on ebay for $100.00+.
This is the Two Piece version that measure 9-1/12 in high and 4-3/4 in wide.

I took these photos at the local Antique mall where these are being sold as Replicas for under $30.00. They have a few and they very in the "aging" colorations.

I do not know if there ever was an original antique Texaco door stop so I can't say these are reproductions. If anyone knows for sure that they were made and has documentation that would be great.

I don't know if these were ever made by Texaco, but do have a comment on the "Replica" and "Reproduction" terms. They have a similar meaning when describing later made copy of an authentic item.

The word "Fantasy" doorstop would accurately describe an object made to resemble an antique that never actually existed. You can find a bunch on here-- one that comes to mind are the infamous Tiffany Historic Belt buckles.

      Thanks everyone.
I read through some of those links and it sounds like they were never made back in the period so they are just a fantasy item. They were saying these were made of iron 20-25 years ago and now are aluminum (dated 2011). The photos are showing the one piece base where as this one is a two piece base.

The vendor that sell these has a wall full on Fantasy items and seems to have and endless supply.

It is sad that sellers on ebay are getting away with selling these as real antique originals.

garg0y, That is why I started this collection "Fantasy / Repro Cast Iron Toys and More". I see way too many sellers passing this repo/fantasy stuff as antique, even the most obvious stuff.

      Stay Tuned, more to come.
